How Are Prayer Times Calculated?
Prayer times are calculated using the sun's position relative to the Earth. The exact time for each prayer depends on the city's latitude, longitude, and the date. Different Islamic organizations use slightly different angular thresholds for Fajr and Isha — which is why you can choose from multiple calculation methods above.
The most widely used methods are ISNA (North America), MWL (worldwide), and Umm Al-Qura (Saudi Arabia). For users in Southeast Asia, the Singapore or Gulf method may be more appropriate.
