What We Collect
- Newsletter subscriptions: Name, email, and IP address (for spam prevention). Stored in our secure database.
- Contact form submissions: Name, email, subject, and message. Used only to reply to you.
- Server logs: Standard web server logs (IP, browser, page visited) — retained for 30 days for security monitoring only.
- Local storage: Currency rates are cached in your browser's localStorage to reduce API calls. This data never leaves your device.
Third-Party APIs We Use
Our tools fetch data from these free, trusted APIs. When you use a tool, your city or query may be sent to these services:
- Aladhan.com — Prayer times (your city coordinates are sent). Their privacy policy.
- Open.er-api.com — Currency exchange rates (no personal data sent).
- Nominatim / OpenStreetMap — City geocoding for prayer times (city name sent, no IP). Their privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — Typography (your IP may be logged by Google). We load fonts with
media="print"swap to minimise this.
Cookies
We use no tracking cookies. The only browser storage we use is localStorage for caching exchange rates on your device — this improves speed and reduces API calls. You can clear it any time via your browser settings.
If we add Google AdSense in the future, we will update this policy and add a cookie consent banner before enabling it.
Data Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encrypted).
- Our database is stored outside the public web root and is not accessible via URL.
- API endpoints are protected against CSRF, injection, and rate-limiting attacks.
- We do not store passwords — no accounts exist on this site.
Your Rights
If you have subscribed to our newsletter or sent a contact message and wish to have your data deleted, email us at [email protected] with subject "Data Deletion Request". We will process it within 7 days.
Children's Privacy
BanglaiBlog Tools does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us for immediate deletion.
Policy Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and notify newsletter subscribers. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
