How tools are designed
Each calculator is built around a defined input, formula or conversion rule. We prefer transparent calculations that can be understood from the page rather than opaque outputs. Browser-only tools process ordinary user inputs locally whenever practical.
Testing approach
We test normal values, edge cases such as zero or empty inputs, invalid values and mobile layouts. Results are compared against known mathematical relationships or documented unit definitions. Where a tool depends on an external data provider, we separately test the request, error handling and fallback messaging.
Data sources
Dynamic tools identify their external source or explain the data method on the page where relevant. We do not present an estimate as a guaranteed market rate. Historical or reference values should be treated as context rather than a promise about future outcomes.
Content standards
Guides are written to explain why a tool is useful, how its result should be interpreted and what its limitations are. We avoid copying third-party articles and aim to add original explanations around every tool. Corrections are made when a factual or technical issue is identified.
